Garvin remains wide open

Athlete Michael Ray Garvin is one of the fastest, most explosive players in the nation. He's an early member of the 2005 Rivals100 team, and his offer list is impressive.

With so many schools to choose from, Garvin is finding it difficult to narrow things down.
"I'm still pretty much wide open," he said. "I've got more than 20 offers and the list is growing. There's too many for me to really compare right now, so it's kind of pointless to try. I'm going to listen to what they have to say and hopefully take a lot of visits."
The 5-foot-9, 175-pound cornerback/wide receiver runs the 40-yard dash in 4.35 seconds and may be the fastest player in the nation. Is there any chance he'll stay close to home and attend Rutgers?
"I get asked that question all the time, and there are some people that would like to see me do that probably, since they're the in-state school," he said. "I'm going to consider them. They've offered me and I think they have a good coaching staff. They need a lot more speed than they have, and they've let me know I'm the number one guy on their list this year."
Garvin also has offers from schools like Oklahoma, Boston College, Syracuse, Penn State, Maryland, Notre Dame, Nebraska, Kansas State and many more.
"Everybody who watches me play or sees me live comments on my speed. That's definitely the biggest thing working for me. It helps cover a lot of the little mistakes that everyone makes, because I can always get back into the play and make something happen. A lot of schools are looking at me as a cornerback. I know most lockdown corners are bigger, but most don't have my speed."
