Garner plans Pac-12 trip

Michael Garner has held an offer from Arizona for some time and the San Diego (Calif.) Madison wide receiver is planning a trip to Tucson soon.
The 5-foot-10, 155-pound prospect said he and a few teammates could be heading out to Arizona for its spring game and that could be a big trip for Garner, who will attend the Rivals Camp series by Under Armour on March 10 in the Los Angeles area.

Two San Diego Madison teammates, Pierre Cormier and Lee Walker, signed with the Wildcats this past recruiting cycle and that could play a big influence in Garner's decision-making process.
No commitment is expected soon but having Walker and Cormier there could be a factor.
"With Lee and Pierre going to school there, those coaches have stopped by the school and talked to me," Garner said.
"They've been keeping in touch with me and a few of my other teammates are probably going up there for their spring game. We're probably going to go up there and hang out and get familiar with the school."
Arizona is the lone offer for Garner so far and he's also hearing from Washington, Wisconsin and now Stanford has gotten involved as well.
Having two teammates going to Arizona could be a very big plus but there is also a part of Garner that wants to carve out his own niche.
That could mean the crafty wide receiver looks elsewhere but it's still a little too early to determine where he's headed for sure.
"It's still a little too early to tell," Garner said.
"I still have all next year and I kind of want to see how my senior year starts off whether I want to go with them or do my own thing. If schools want me to visit I'll have no problem going there."
