LSU had the last visit and Ole Miss hung around for a while, but Baylor snuck in quietly in January, offered, received an official visit and now the Bears have landed Garmon Randolph.

That is not the only surprise, but Matt Rhule and his staff want Randolph to play defensive end, not tight end. The 6-foot-6, 220 pound three-star out of Jefferson (Ga.) was recruited by every other staff to play offense, but the Bears see something different.

The decision was made just a few days ago.

IN HIS OWN WORDS

"I made my decision Sunday night. That is when I decided it was Baylor," said Randolph. "It was hard decision because I had to decide where I wanted to be the next three to four years, but I know my mind is made up and I can do anything I want there now.

"Baylor was the best opportunity for me to play, to be around great people and to focus on academics. There is a chance I could play tight end and defensive end there too, but if it is only defense, then it will be exciting to learn something new."
