Gardner adds honor, more offers

Detroit Inkster 2010 quarterback Devin Gardner has some big news.
The 6-foot-4, 195-poudner was recently selected to be one of the underclass ball boys at the upcoming EA Sports Elite 11 Camp in Southern California.

"It's a huge honor," Gardner said. "I know they only allow the best few guys from the upcoming class be a part of it, so when I found out, I couldn't help but get excited. It's a big, big deal."
Gardner will join an elite group. One of last year's ball boys was Aaron Murray, who is now considered one of the top senior quarterbacks in the nation.
Gardner also has big news on the recruiting front. He's added two new offers to his list – to go along with Michigan State and Bowling Green – and he just completed working out at Notre Dame.
"I've got new offers from Cincinnati and Toledo," Gardner said. "Those are nice offers, and I'm excited about them. I'm actually on my way back from Notre Dame right now. I really liked it down there. They said they liked how I threw and they would stay in touch with me."
Gardner said he talked to coach Charlie Weis about his performance.
"I asked him if he needed to see film, and he said he didn't need to see film because he liked what he saw while I was out there throwing," Gardner said.
"He was very complimentary of how I did. I was impressed that he liked what he saw. It means a lot coming from a coach like that."
