Gardenhire preps for Pac-12 trip

Darren Gardenhire remains committed to San Jose State but a trip to Washington State is coming up and a new ACC program is showing interest.
The Long Beach (Calif.) Cabrillo defensive back said Miami has reached out in the last week or so and he's definitely thinking about taking a trip to see what the Hurricanes are all about in January.

"I talked to Miami a little bit," Gardenhire said.
"They're trying to set my visit up for January. I'm thinking about it, going to the school and seeing it. I'm open to everybody. I need to talk to them a little bit more and make sure. I just started talking to them last week."
The Washington State trip coming up for its game against Utah could be even more important for Gardenhire since he's going there with a bunch of friends from California.
Gardenhire, who committed to San Jose State on July 1, said the Cougars are one of his favorites and that he's taking a trip to Pullman with Arizona commit Naijiel Hale, Washington commit Rahshead Johnson and UCLA pledge Denzel Fisher.
The three-star standout also said his parents will be taking the trip to Washington State with him because he's really serious about the Cougars.
"I'm really looking forward to it," Gardenhire said.
"I'm really serious. That's my No. 2 school so it's important. My mom is going with me and my dad is going with me because I'm really thinking about going there. They want to see it, too, so we can talk about it."
