Gant officially commits to Ohio State

Orchard Lake (Mich.) St. Mary's defensive back Aaron Gant talked with Jim Tressel today and officially committed to the Buckeyes.
"I talked to coach Tressel and coach Haynes," Gant said. "I committed to Ohio State. I confirmed it. Coach Tressel was pretty happy."

Before he talked to the Buckeyes Gant talked to Michigan. He had a visit scheduled with the Wolverines for this coming weekend.
"They asked me why I didn't go on my visit," Gant said. "I told them I've been there before."
When asked why he picked Ohio State, Gant said, "The football program, the coaches, and I liked the players. And their class of 2006 , I like how good we can be.
"I'm all done now. I'll just wait till signing day."
Gant said he could play either strong or free safety for the Buckeyes.
The 6-foot-0 and 200-pound Gant intercepted three passes during his senior season playing outside linebacker and fullback.
