"I'll be going to South Carolina sometime in
January," said Americus standout
Warren Gooden, a member of the Rivals.com
Georgia
Top 50 team and one of the top defensive tackle prospects in
the South. "I'm not sure of the date yet, but I'm really looking forward to
it.
"I like South Carolina a lot. They've come on real
strong lately. Coach (Todd) Fitch was down here at my house not too long ago
to visit me, and we hit it off pretty good. They've made it clear that they
really want me there."
Gooden (6-1, 300, 5.2) has previously been
considered a strong lean to Georgia, but says the Bulldogs are now No. 2 on
his list. He's also considering Auburn and Central Florida, among a host of
smaller programs that may be in line for a major talent if grades become a
factor.
As a senior, Gooden recorded 50 tackles, three sacks
and six forced fumbles.
