Gamecocks lead for Jersey ATH

South Carolina hits the state of New Jersey hard and the Gamecocks are in a good position for one of the top junior athletes in the Garden State.
Tevin Shaw, a 5-foot-11, 190-pound athlete from Piscataway, had a huge junior season last year.

Offensively he carried the ball about 100 times for 1,237 yards and 17 touchdowns. On defense he registered 59 tackles and picked off four passes.
Shaw can get it done on both sides of the ball and isn't sure which position he will play in college.
"I think running back is my best position now but I think the more I play defensive back the better I'll be at it," he said on Tuesday evening.
Shaw said he has been receiving interest from Boston College, Rutgers, UConn, Tennessee and Wisconsin.
He has been a regular visitor to Rutgers and says he likes the facilities at the Big East school. He has also been to Boston College and liked what he saw there as well.
That said, Shaw likes one school more than the rest.
"I would say maybe South Carolina's sticking out," he said.
"My coach told me when South Carolina came to the school that they're supposed to offer me this upcoming August. He said somebody sent them my film and they liked it. I'm supposed to visit them over spring break."
Shaw said some schools are recruiting him as an athlete, others a running back, and some like him as a defensive back.
