Gamecocks enter mix for Florida LB

Jacksonville (Fla.) Bolles High School is home to a sleeper linebacker whose stock may be getting ready to take off.
“I picked up a couple of new offers,” said Keith Lisante. “Navy offered me a while back, and South Carolina just told me last week that they’re going to be sending an official offer, and that they really want me to come up there for an official visit.”

Lisante (6-2, 207, 4.7) had a previous offer from UConn. He said those three schools, plus Louisville and Duke, are in line for official visits.
“I know I’ll visit the three who have offered,” he said. “We just don’t have the dates yet. Louisville wants me to come up there, so I’m taking that as a good sign. If Duke offers, I’d also like to go check them out.”
Any leader at this point?
“It’s between UConn, Navy and South Carolina,” Lisante said. “UConn was the first to offer me, so that’s kind of stuck with me. I’ve made a couple of unofficial visits up there, and liked it a lot. They have a brand new stadium, which is nice. I think they’re a program on the rise.
“I went to Navy this past weekend for their game against Central Michigan. I had a good time there. I like the coaches, and it’s a great school. That’s one of the best educations you can get. Plus, the service academies are big in our family. My dad and brother went to the Merchant Marine Academy.
“I haven’t been up to South Carolina yet, but I’m really excited about getting an offer and going there for an official visit. I know it’s a real good program, and they play in the SEC. They’ve got a great coach in Lou Holtz.”
Lisante said he’ll likely schedule his visits when the season is complete. Bolles is 10-1 and has advanced to the third round of the Class 3A playoffs. He had eight tackles, three pass break-ups and a sack in last week’s victory.
Academically, he maintains a 3.0 GPA and has scored an 1110 on the SAT.
