Gallimore names his top five

After just completing his first official visit, Rivals250 defensive tackle Neville Gallimore has settled on which schools will be receiving his remaining official visits.
"My top five right now, in no order, is Oklahoma, Florida, Ohio State, Florida State and Oregon," Gallimore reported. "I plan on taking my five officials to those schools."

Oklahoma hosted Gallimore for his first official visit this past weekend, and he has a general idea of when he will take trips to the final four schools on his list.
"I have been in contact with Ohio State and I plan on taking the visit when they play Michigan (Nov. 29)," Gallimore said. "With Florida I'll probably be at a game sometime in November and Florida State sometime in October. Oregon, I believe, is Nov. 1 but it is not confirmed yet."
The official visit to Oklahoma was only the third college recruiting visit Gallimore has taken in his entire recruitment, with unofficial visits to Ohio State and Eastern Michigan having been completed in the spring. He came away from his weekend in Norman high on the Sooners.
"I had a blast," Gallimore said. "It was a real good connection and opportunity to meet the staff, the players I hung out with and also the recruits. It is a great group of guys altogether and I felt very comfortable being there."
A native of Ottawa, Canada, Gallimore soaked in the atmosphere at last Saturday's game between Oklahoma and Tennessee.
"This was my first time watching a college football game in the States and being in an environment where football is such a big factor in people's lives," Gallimore said. "Being there this weekend, it definitely did (live up to expectations). Oklahoma is a football place and the tradition there is crazy. It was a great environment to be in and the fans are very supportive of them."
Gallimore has expressed interest in the past of playing out his college career in a warmer weather climate than he has grown up in, and he also found the travel to Norman manageable.
"I was expecting it to be a longer trip than it was, even though I flew out of Detroit," Gallimore said. "It's not that bad and flying wasn't that much of a problem so that was good to know."
The trip originated out of Detroit because Canada Prep Academy played a team in southeast Michigan Friday night. Gallimore's coach had originally planned on traveling with him but could not make it so the four-star defensive lineman made the trip solo.
"Being down there myself I had to be more observant and pay close attention to what the coaches were saying," Gallimore said. "I observed the players, the coaches and how the players responded to the coaches.
"It would be a good experience for (his coach, family) to get a taste of it, but all in all it was a good experience. I came back and spoke with my coach, spoke with my parents and my brothers and they liked what they were hearing."
Although Gallimore was impressed with what he saw at Oklahoma, he expects to complete the rest of his trips before making his college selection.
"I owe it to myself as well as my family and coach to take all five officials and get a feel of what it is like at other schools," Gallimore said. "But I'm not gonna lie - I had a lot of fun at Oklahoma and they made me feel welcome. Definitely it is a good situation."
The 6-foot-3, 303-pound Gallimore and his Canada Prep Academy teammates continue their 2014 season Saturday against Poly Prep of Brooklyn, New York. He has tallied 15 tackles and three sacks in the first two games of his senior season.
