Gallimore closing in on a decision

Rivals100 defensive tackle Neville Gallimore has taken four official visits and has a date planned for announcing his commitment.
"I plan on making my decision at the U.S. Army game," Gallimore said. "I probably won't be able to take a visit this weekend because I have an examination coming up. But, I still want to take advantage of all five officials. If I do have an opportunity take my fifth official it will most likely be to the University of Alabama."

An official visit to Alabama would likely take place in January, after Gallimore announces his commitment Jan. 3.
"They came into the mix a lot later than other schools," Gallimore noted. "Alabama, as a football tradition and a football town, they bring a lot to the table. If there is an opportunity to take an official or just an experience, I want to take advantage of that."
Gallimore started his official visit tour in September with a trip to Oklahoma. He visited Florida State in October and then Auburn and Ohio State on back-to-back weekends in late November.
"At this point, a lot of the schools in my top five are completely different feels," Gallimore said. "Oklahoma brings a lot to the table. Florida State brings a lot as well as does Auburn and Ohio State. So, in that way they are similar, but they are also very different."
Ohio State was the only official visit recipient that had previously hosted Gallimore for an unofficial visit in the off-season, so he went into that trip with a greater familiarity with the people and campus than his previous official visits.
"I was familiar with the coaches and a couple of the commits there because I'd met them before," Gallimore said. "I had the opportunity to catch when they played Michigan and that was an awesome game, great environment. That was the most people they've ever had - 108,000 - so it was great to see Ohio State in that environment.
"They bring a lot to the table. They've done a lot this year winning the Big Ten Championship, and I know they are trying to have a big class for 2015. I can honestly say they are doing a very good job making an impact on me and all the things they said they are going to do have been unfolding."
Some of the Ohio State commits Gallimore spent time with during his official visit to Columbus were Justin Hilliard, Jashon Cornell and Matthew Burrell Jr.
"A lot of these guys I met over the course of the camps I've gone to," Gallimore said. "Jashon Cornell was actually my roommate at The Opening. I had a chance to connect with them over the weekend and seeing them again was fun."
Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer was in Gallimore's school on Tuesday and the Buckeye's coaching staff is also expected to have an in-home with Gallimore later this week. Auburn and Oklahoma are also expected for in-home visits this week.
The 6-foot-3, 303-pound Gallimore broke into the Rivals100 after a strong senior campaign and is now ranked as the No. 72 overall prospect and No. 9 defensive tackle in the 2015 class.
