Gabe King lands huge Big Ten offer

Rivals100 defensive end Gabe King out of Greensboro (N.C.) Page continues to pile up scholarships. The 6-foot-5, 255-pounder is over a dozen scholarships and landed a big one from the Big Ten late last week.
"I got an offer from Michigan," he said. "I got that on Thursday. Before the offer, I hadn't really talked to anyone from Michigan. I did talk to Coach Rodriguez the other day.

"He sounded really nice. He made a remark about how often people say it's a free scholarship or a free ride, but you have to earn it. You're paying the price for a scholarship. That's the first time I had heard that and it made them stand out. I'll be looking at Michigan a lot more."
Does King plan to visit Ann Arbor?
"If I can, I would love to, but I've gotta talk to my parents."
The offer puts King at approximately 14 scholarships.
"It's just amazing, all these offers give me a drive, a burning desire to play and get better and better. It's a big motivation."
Does King hope to get any other offers in the near future?
"I'm hoping Ohio State, USC and Texas Tech will come in."
He went on to discuss what he's looking for in a college.
"Pretty much I want to fit in, I want a family-oriented team and I want to go somewhere with a high graduation rate if I don't make it to the next level," he stated. "I want a sound coaching staff. I don't want to go anywhere that will be changing coaches. My brother had that at Kent State and I don't want to go through that.
"I also want academics to mean something. I want to be able to go into the corporate field and get a job. I want my college name to hold some value."
