GA WR Franklin talks B1G offer, SEC interest

Class of 2016 Marietta (Ga.) Wheeler wide receiver Benaiah Franklin has been under the radar, but he's hoping that changes this spring. The 6-foot, 205-pound prospect already has offers from Georgia State, Miami (OH), and Purdue and is expecting several schools to come by to evaluate him this spring.
In the meantime, the Boilermakers have his full attention.

"I got that one last month and it was pretty exciting," Franklin said. "They told me that I'm the top receiver on their board."
Franklin is high on Purdue and said he's still educating himself about the school before he thinks about committing -- something he was initially tempted to do.
"I want to learn more about their education program and get to know the coaches a little bit," he said. "But I like them a lot."
When the offer initially came in it was a bit of a surprise for Franklin, but definitely one he enjoyed.
"They had come by my school before and I kept in touch with them," he said. "Getting my first big offer like that was really exciting for me."
With three in hand, Franklin is hoping another one is on the way.
"I've been talking to a bunch of schools like Western Kentucky and Missouri," he said. "A lot of schools want me to come to camp and show what I can do. Hopefully I'll go up there for camps or they will come by and see me."
