GA receiver is in high demand

When the spring began, one of the southeast's top wide receiver prospects was somehow sitting with zero scholarships to his credit. With spring at its close and summer camps in full swing, that wide receiver – Michael Bennett of Alpharetta, Ga. – has suddenly earned offers from around the country.
"It's been pretty hectic actually," Bennett said of the spring. "I got my first offer in early May and ever since then it's just been opening up so every week I get about three more offers. The most recent was last week and that was from Syracuse."

The interest was long overdue for a wide receiver that averaged over 24 yards per catch as a junior.
"It feels great," he said. "I was just looking for my first offer. I saw all of these other guys getting them and I thought, I'm just as good as those guys."
Bennett has camped at the Nike Football Training Camp in Athens, Ga., the University of Tennessee one-day camp and this past weekend he camped at the University of Florida.
"I did real well there," he said. "The coaches said that they liked me a lot."
A Florida offer would be a "dream offer" for Bennett as would offers from Michigan State and Georgia.
"My dad, he went to Michigan State so I grew up really liking them," he said. "You want to go to a school you really like so it would be a dream to play there. I'm getting some really strong interest from them and I'm going to camp in July and hopefully get an offer from them."
Of his three dream schools, Bennett has already auditioned at Florida, and now has scheduled camps at both Michigan State (July) and Georgia (Saturday). Bennett has also considered camping at Vanderbilt but is playing the wait and see approach with his schedule based on how his recent camp performances pan out.
"I'm thinking about going to Vandy on the 20th (of June)," he said. "I'm just going to see what happens with Florida and Georgia and I'll just go from there."
