GA OL picks Miss. St.

Stone Mountain (Ga.) Stephenson offensive lineman Tyler Jones always knew he wanted to play in the SEC, so on Monday he decided to fulfill his goal by giving a verbal pledge to Mississippi State.
Jones and his family returned home from a weekend in Starkville and it was only a matter of time before he made his announcement public.

"I called Coach Mullen earlier today to give him the news. He was excited. Mississippi State has everything I want in a school," said Jones. "My parents really liked the academic side. They have two academic advisors for you. Coach [David] Turner and Coach [John] Hevesy are genuine coaches".
Last Friday, his teammate Jordan Harris committed to the Bulldogs as well. Mississippi State's success in the Peach State continues to be a priority for this year's class with three early commitments.
Stephenson is a national powerhouse program that is known for producing top tier BCS recruits. It's that type of competition that will help Jones at the next level.
"Playing against the best everyday gets you ready for college. At Stephenson we have guys that are great players. It gives you an advantage, but you still have to work hard. Hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard," remarked Jones.
He is a solid commit and only has one official visit set for Mississippi State. Jones has yet to decide if he will take other visits in the fall.
