GA end is headed to the MAC

Decatur (Ga.) Southwest Dekalb defensive end Morris Council made his decision earlier this week. The 6-foot-4, 235-pounder committed to Miami (Ohio) over offers from Toledo, Memphis, Florida A&M and Tulane.
"It was a tough call for me, I went back and forth between Miami (Ohio) and Toledo," he said. "In the end, Miami just felt like a better fit for me and I thought the academics were better. I'm looking to go into physical therapy.

"I also like the team there and I think there's a chance I could play early. I was also impressed with the big alumni base they have in the Atlanta area. That's important to me that a lot of players on the team already are from my area. If I went to Toledo, I would have been the only player from Georgia."
As far as playing time, the Peach State lineman will get his chance immediately.
"The coaches have discussed that my position is open," he said. "As long as I do what I need to do when I arrive and prove myself in training camp, I should be in good shape to play."
Council registered 94 tackles and five sacks on his way to first team all-county offense and defense honors as a senior.
