Future Wildcat doing a little selling

Edmond (Okla.) North offensive tackle Joe Barresi made his college choice in September by choosing Mike Stoops’ Arizona Wildcat program. He made another trip out to Tucson this weekend to watch the Wildcats in their final game of the 2004 season against Arizona State.
“It was a great weekend,” the 6-foot-5, 304-pound Barresi said. “I had a great time. I got to see the people that I met on my official visit again. I met several more people and I got to watch the Wildcats win against the Sun Devils.”

Barresi also had the chance to visit with a couple of uncommitted recruits.
“I got to talk to a couple of recruits out there. Hopefully I got through to them and they’ll commit, too. I talked to Brandyn McCall, a junior college tight end from California and to Vince Oghobaase a defensive lineman from Texas. They both were having a good time, I think. Brandyn seemed real excited about everything, but Vince was a tough guy to read. They would be great additions to the class, though.”
Recruiting has slowed greatly in the time since Barresi made his choice to commit to Arizona.
“For the most part, other schools are leaving me alone. I sent out letters to all of the schools that were recruiting me. I told them that I had made a choice and that I was happy with it. I also thanked them for their interest in me. That letter really seems to have taken care of all of the other schools.”
