One of the biggest pieces of news to come out of the Brothers in Arms Classic at the University of Maryland came from Washington (D.C.) Friendship Collegiate Academy defensive back Daejuan Funderburk. Funderburk had committed to Temple on July 6, but the situation seems to have changed.
"I did decommit from Temple," the 6-foot-1, 188-pound Funderburk said. "I just wanted a better chance to go the NFL and play around better players. I think that exposure on a BCS team would really help me."
Funderburk had offers from Florida State, Georgia Tech, Iowa, Miami, Nebraska, Syracuse, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia, Marshall and Old Dominion among others, but he is now looking at a few new schools.
"Right now, I'm looking at Arizona, Wisconsin, Rutgers and Kentucky," he said. "I'll probably look at Maryland too."
Funderburk has already scheduled an official visit with his teammate Jonathan Haden out to Arizona.
"I'm taking an official to Arizona with Jonathan for the Oregon game," he said. "That's about it for right now. I talked to a coach from Pittsburgh the coach the other day. I'm also still in touch with Temple."
Funderburk participated in the Richmond RCS back in April.
