Size and Speed: Bain is 6-foot-4 and 320 pounds. He has also been clocked in the 40-yard dash at 5.11 seconds. Bain imposes impressive strength with a 465-pound bench press and a vertical jump of 22.8 inches. He has also qualified by passing the SAT and he has a 3.6 grade-point average.
Honors: Bain earned first team all county and was an all-state selection his junior year.
Favorite Schools: Miami and Florida State
Skinny: Pompano (Fla.) Ely will be a contender for a state championship in the state of Florida with the talent they have and standout lineman Andrew Bain is a big reason why.
Bain is one of the top linemen in the state of Florida and may be regarded as on of the top in the nation. You can understand why teammate Tyrone Moss has rushed for more than 2,000-yards rushing, so far in his career running behind Bain’s physical style of blocking.
He imposes a huge threat for opposing teams who must line up across from him.
“Andrew can sure open up some huge holes,” said a college coach from the Southeast. “He knows how to get the job done. It’ll be hard-pressed to find many that will be better than him.”
Bain is playing offensive guard but also play tackle in college.
“I’m going to be playing on both sides of the ball this year for the first time,” he said. “That way teams will have to try to figure out how to contain me.”
Camps that Bain is planning on attending are Miami and Florida State. as of right now. Location may play a role in Bain’s decision and that is why Miami might have a say when it is all said and done.
“Both Florida State and Miami have offered me, but Miami is closer to home,” he said.
