FSU is target for standout DB

Darnay Holmes has had an incredible spring. The 2017 cornerback has picked up major offers from across the country but he has hit sights set on the crown jewel of college football right now - and he's hoping another offer comes soon.
The Newbury Park, Calif., standout said he has sent his information to the coaches at Florida State and now he's waiting to hear back if the Seminoles want to offer this early.

Holmes, a 5-foot-10, 182-pound prospect who has looked good on Keyshawn Johnson's Team 19 7on7 squad this offseason, said the Seminoles would move right to the top of his list if they offer.
"I sent them my highlights and stuff," Holmes said. "I'm waiting for them to get back to me but the coach said they should be close to offering.
"The coach said if I really am the kid that everybody is saying then to send them my highlight tape and he said he'll see what he can do.
"That would be huge. They would definitely shoot up to the top of my list."
Holmes is already a hot commodity. Arizona, Cal, Clemson, Colorado State, Louisville, Mississippi State, San Diego State, Tennessee, UCLA and Utah have offered.
Many others are showing interest but Holmes is most hopeful that Florida State gets involved soon.
"They just won the national championship so that's a big one plus the program is very, very good," Holmes said. "They have a lot of good defensive backs which I'm definitely going to play in college.
"They also have a very good defense. In the ACC they play good teams like Clemson so that's really big."
Washington and especially Stanford are showing new interest in the Newbury Park standout. He's expected to camp with the Cardinal this summer and Holmes definitely likes them a lot as well.
"Stanford is very high on my list," Holmes said. "I love Stanford."
