Class of 2015 Rivals100 running back Jacques Patrick already has a list of 10 early favorites, but if things keep going the way they are, he might have to narrow his list down to two.
"Florida State has been talking to me the most," the nation's No. 42 overall player said. "Alabama has been coming really strong too so those are probably the most aggressive right now."
Patrick said the recent success of big backs at both schools is a reason that they're standing out to him.
"They have both had backs like me recently," the 6-foot-2, 225-pound Patrick said. "Florida State had James Wilder, Alabama has Drake, Henry and Yeldon so I can see how those guys are used and I already know how I'll be used by watching those guys."
After missing Florida State's most recent junior day, Patrick said he plans to be campus again this weekend.
"I'm going to Florida State on March 1," he said. "I was up there about a month ago, right after the won the championship. I was just sitting there with Jimbo. He tells me that I'm his guy and they need me. He said I'm at the top of their board at the running back position."
Earlier this month Patrick was on campus at Florida, where he had a chance to talk to the Gators coaches about their new offensive scheme.
"It was a good trip," he said. "I just hung out with Coach White the whole time and Coach Muschamp, we watched the basketball game. I think they want me to be versatile, because if they want they can line me up in the slot, get me on little passes out of the backfield as opposed to last year's offense when it was just line it up and pound it straight forward."
