Fruge makes his decision

Houston (Texas) Furr outside linebacker Nomluis Fruge has drawn interest from across the region, picking up offers from Houston, Louisiana-Lafayette, Prairie View, Lamar, New Mexico, and North Texas over the course of his recruitment.
Coaches from Texas Tech and Oklahoma have also shown significant interest, and Fruge remains in touch. However, he recently decided it was time to make a decision regarding his college future.

With signing day approaching in February, and a great opportunity on the table, the 6-1, 190-pound defender wasted little time letting the Houston coaching staff know he was ready to join them while he was on his official visit over the weekend
"It was just the fact that they are right here and that's kind of a dream school," Fruge said. "Tech left so it was either going to be OU or Houston. OU was kind of holding their offer around until February but I couldn't afford to pass up this offer so I committed."
Fruge has made a commitment to the Cougars, and he does not plan on backing out of it, but he does plan to take a few more visits over the next month.
"I might go take a visit to Texas Tech. I'm not real sure," Fruge said. "I know for a fact I will take a visit to Lamar for the simple fact they were the second school to offer me. Lafayette, I should be going to Lafayette in January. I might go to Lafayette on the 17th, Lamar on the 26th, and Tech on the 11th. They're all going to be in January."
Houston is recruiting Fruge as both a linebacker and a safety, and the defensive standout is ready to contribute wherever he can.
"I have no preference," Fruge said. "I just want to get on the field."
