From the road: Oklahoma and Texas

Recruiting Wrap: Rice is awaiting his first scholarship offer.
Performance: The only thing keeping Rice from a mountain of
scholarship offers is his limited size. Listed at 5-foot-6, Rice is as quick and
explosive as any major college prospect. His explosiveness was a real problem
for the Norman North defense on Friday, as the undersized athlete broke a number
of long plays, including a 69-yard touchdown catch. Rice, who plays both running
back and receiver, finished the night with 162 receiving yards for three scores.
Rice deserves to get some serious college looks. His offer list will depend on
how easily coaches overlook his height.

DB
Max Wariboko (2016)
Oklahoma City (Oklahoma) Casady
School
Recruiting Wrap: A 2016 prospect, Wariboko lists offers from
Tulsa, Louisville and UCLA.
Performance: Wariboko was an extremely bright spot for Casady
during the loss. He was elite in coverage and stayed in his man's hip pocket on
nearly every route. He broke up and handful of deep passes and was smooth coming
out of his backpedal. The knock on Wariboko continues to be his limited size.
It's part of what will keep him from a massive offer list, but it's clear that
he can help a college team despite his relatively slight build.
Grade: B+
QB
John Kolar
Norman (Oklahoma) North
Recruiting Wrap: Kolar is committed to Oklahoma State.
Performance: Kolar was more impressive running the ball than he
was throwing it on Friday. His team's opening possession saw him orchestrate a
long drive constructed mostly of quarterback keepers. Kolar has enough speed to
tuck it and run when the pocket collapses and has great vision for a
quarterback. He made some questionable decisions in the passing game and tossed
a bad interception at the end of the first half. That said, the ball jumped out
of his hand and he showed impressive accuracy on a few deep throws.
Grade: B
DE
Noah Jones (2016)
Moore (Oklahoma) Southmoore
Recruiting Wrap: Jones is getting looks from every in-state
program but is awaiting his first offer
Performance: Jones looks great getting off the bus. He's every
big of 6-foot-5 and boasts impressive strength. Southmoore uses him in a variety
of roles, but he shines at defensive end. He accounted for a couple of sacks and
a handful of impressive stops on Friday night. He is sound technique-wise and
has a quick rip move that he relied on to get off blocks. Jones is learning to
use his length more effectively and his footwork seems to be improving.
Grade: B
OL
Brey Walker (2017)
Moore (Oklahoma) Southmoore
Recruiting Wrap: Just a sophomore, Walker is seeing interest
from the in-state schools but his recruitment is still developing.
Performance: Walker is starting to grow into his body and he is
turning heads in the process. His 6-foot-6 frame is only topped by his massive
wingspan. He is developing quickly as a pass protector, but will need to add
strength to reach his massive potential as a punishing run blocker. Walker
looked much older than a sophomore on Friday and his upside is massive.
Grade: B
RB
Quan Hogan (2016)
Norman (Oklahoma) North
Recruiting Wrap: Hogan's lone offer is from Tulsa but a host of
power conference schools are also involved.
Performance: At times, the 200-pound Hogan flashed the
quickness and power that make him an interesting prospect to a number of
high-level FBS programs. His inconsistency can be, in part, chalked up to the
fact that his offensive line struggled to get a push, but it certainly wasn't
the three-star prospect's best day. He broke a few long runs and flashed the
pass-catching ability that makes him a true all-purpose back. Hogan's power and
versatility make him prospect worthy of the scholarship offers he's sure to
receive in the future.
Grade: B-
WR
Winston Guillory
Dallas (Texas) Episcopal School
Recruiting Wrap: Guillory has offers from Duke, California
and Vanderbilt.
Performance: Guillory's size isn't stunning. The wide receiver
is just big enough. He also has above average speed and quickness. He made his
presence known early in Friday's game, when he got loose on a long touchdown
reception during the game's opening drive. Guillory is sudden out of his cuts
and seems to boast sure hands over the middle.
Grade: B-
WR
Denver Johnson
Oklahoma City (Oklahoma) Casady
School
Recruiting Wrap: Johnson is committed to Iowa State.
Performance: There's a lot to like about Johnson and it stars
with his height. He's able to use his 6-foot-3 frame to high point passes and
dominate jump balls. His length is also beneficial over the middle. Johnson
isn't going to blow any cornerback's doors off in a sprint and probably won't be
a consistent home run threat in college, but he can certainty contribute on the
FBS level as a threat over the middle.
Grade: C
DT
Corey Tipsword (2016)
Norman (Oklahoma) North
Recruiting Wrap: Tipsword impressed at Oklahoma's team camp
over the summer. And while the Sooners seem to be very interested, he is still
awaiting his first scholarship offer.
Performance: Tipsword is a monster of a prospect that plugs
holes and makes plenty of tackle. His agility looked like a problem on Friday,
though. The 330-pound tackle has battled injuries this season, so his limited
mobility may have been a product of that. Still. He didn't move as well as you
would like from a high-level college prospect. If he gets quicker and his
footwork improves, Tipsword's upside knows no bounds. For now, however, he has
some work to do.
Grade: C
OTHER PROSPECTS
DB
Quindon Lewis (2017)
Moore (Oklahoma) Southmooore
Just a sophomore, Lewis will likely be among the top players in Oklahoma by the
time he is a senior. There isn't much the 6-foot-2 sophomore didn't do on
Friday. Lewis, who grabbed an interception and scored a touchdown, has the size
to play safety but covers like a corner. He also plays wide receiver and returns
kicks. His athleticism is off the charts and there's no telling what he could
become as he grows as a football player. Plenty of schools are already taking
note of his talents. It's only a matter of time until he grabs a scholarship
offer.
OL
Walker Reed
Norman (Oklahoma) North
Reed has nice size and plays with the kind of aggression you like in an
offensive lineman. He has trouble finishing blocks at times. And while his
footwork is improving he still has some work to do in that realm. Still, Reed
could help any number of small college teams. He is getting well-deserved looks
from that level.
QB
Thomas Fitts
Dallas (Texas) Episcopal School
Fitts has a nice build but maybe isn't quite as tall as the 6-foot-3 at which
he's billed . His arm strength is solid enough, but where he shines is in his
decision-making. Fitts has a knack for putting the ball where only his receiver
can catch it and goes through his progressions well even under pressure. Fitts
was efficient on Saturday afternoon, as he spread the ball around while leading
an offensive explosion. He is yet to receive a scholarship offer.
