From the road: Jacksonville

Recruiting wrap: Committed to Florida State since July of 2012.
Performance: Much has been made of the three class of 2015 quarterbacks committed to the Seminoles. There has been talk of a possible flip among one of the players or one playing another position, with Johnson possibly being a candidate for the latter. While Johnson does have an unorthodox throwing style that could be seen as a weakness, he consistently hit his targets and put the right amount of touch on the ball to make it catchable. There's no denying his athleticism is his biggest strength, as he ran hard to extend the play and even earned a hard-fought rushing touchdown in a goal line situation. The 6-foot-2, 186-pound four-star comes across as one of those competitors that seems to find away to overcome some how, some way. Johnson, who recently passed Tim Tebow on the Sunshine State's all-time passing touchdown leaderboard, continues to chase the state record of 126. He added four more touchdowns to bring his total to 104 with five games to go.

Shaquille Quarterman (2016)
Orange Park (Fla.) Oakleaf
Recruiting wrap: Committed to Miami since June.
Performance: It was a short night for the 6-foot, 239-pound Quarterman, who saw his team build a big lead early and didn't play in the second half. But the four-star was a big reason the game got out of hand as he recorded two tackles for loss -- one which came on fourth down -- and five tackles overall. He's already a strong, athletic player for his position and age and as a junior with more time to develop, the Canes are sitting on a potential immediate impact player.

OL
William Sweet
Jacksonville First Coast
Recruiting wrap: Committed to North Carolina since April.
Performance: Sweet's skills were on full display against an inferior opponent, as he consistently opened big lanes in run game and bought time for his quarterback to throw four touchdowns. The 6-foot-7, 280-pound four-star is still being heavily recruited, as demonstrated by the college offensive line coaches on hand to see him, including LSU O-line coach Jeff Grimes and Nebraska O-line coach John Garrison. Les Miles later joined Grimes on the sideline, and Sweet was in Gainesville the following day for the LSU-Florida game. With Sweet's size and athleticism, he can fit into just about any offensive scheme in the country.

WR
Tristan Payton
Jacksonville First Coast
Recruiting wrap: Committed to USC since August.
Performance: Payton didn't find the end zone, but there was no denying the four-star's physical, hard-nosed playing style. He has plenty of athleticism to boot. The 6-foot, 187-pound Payton drew a pass interference penalty on a deep route and just missed connecting with Johnson on a few deep pass plays. It wouldn't be shock if he saw the field next season as a true freshman for the Trojans.

LB
Sherrod Pittman
Jacksonville First Coast
Recruiting wrap: Committed to South Carolina since July of 2013.
Performance: Pitman finished with a handful of tackles, including two for loss, with Gamecocks assistant Steve Spurrier Jr. on hand. The 6-foot, 215-pound four-star probably could have made several more big plays had he been allowed to line up on the edge, but he stayed within the system and got the job done on a night where the opposition couldn't score.

WR
Jerad Washington
Jacksonville First Coast
Recruiting wrap: Committed to South Carolina since Oct. 2013.
Performance: Washington showed his future college position coach what he can do with his speed and athleticism, best demonstrated by a 20-yard touchdown reception. The 5-foot-8, 150-pound three-star figures to fit best at the slot receiver at South Carolina and could see some playing time early on if he can put on some weight.

DB
Chris Westry
Orange Park (Fla.) Oakleaf
Recruiting wrap: Committed to Auburn since July.
Performance: Oakleaf jumped ahead early and its opponent was very limited in its ability to move the ball through the air, so three-star Westry made his plays in the run game, recording a tackle for loss and assisting on a number of other tackles. While he didn't get to show off his pass defense skills, it's easy to see that with his 6-foot-4, 180-pound frame that he'll make for a safety that can make an impact for the Tigers -- maybe sooner than later if he can bulk up before next season.

OTHER PROSPECTS
WR
Tymek Brown
Jacksonville First Coast
With First Coast possessing so many offensive weapons -- especially at receiver -- it was a quiet night for the two-star Brown. The 5-foot-11, 160-pound two-star, who is not committed, holds offers from Rutgers and Troy.
ATH
Marcus Johnson (2016)
Orange Park (Fla.) Oakleaf
Coming in as a transfer who didn't play last season, Johnson is definitely a bit of an unknown. But the 6-foot, 185-pound junior is a playmaker who's described by his coaching staff as the best skill position player on the team. He had touchdown runs of 11 and 55 yards and has excellent speed. He holds an offer from UAB.
DB
Peter Knox
Jacksonville First Coast
First Coast shut out its opponent and Knox saw few opportunities to make plays in the passing game, but the 6-foot-2, 180-pound two-star holds an offer from Pittsburgh.
OL
Je'Vionte Nash (2016)
Orange Park (Fla.) Oakleaf
Nash did his part dominating an inferior line and helping his team to a big victory. He's got good size at 6-foot-3, 270 pounds, holds an offer from South Alabama, and as long as college recruiters are following fellow 2016 teammate Shaquille Quarterman, he should continue to get looks and more offers.
DB
Nick Roberts (2017)
Orange Park (Fla.) Oakleaf
The 5-foot-9, 155-pound sophomore has a promising future with Oakleaf and has been starting since his freshman season. He's yet to receive an offer, but already plays like an experienced upperclassmen. The more exposure he receives the more attention he should receive from FCS schools and beyond.
OL
Nelson Santiago
Orange Park (Fla.) Oakleaf
The 6-foot-2, 261-pound two-star is committed to South Alabama. He did his job against an opponent who was undersized and not technically sound. He holds a total of nine offers and there's a chance some other schools could jump in late.
