From prospect to sleeper

Every year there seems to be a mystery prospect that does all the right things, puts up the numbers and ends up on the short end of the recruiting stick.
How does a quarterback from one of the nation’s most prestigious programs fall off the recruiting map?

Falling off the recruiting map is what appears to be happening to quarterback Leon Jackson (6-1, 190, 4.58) from Long Beach (Calif.) Poly.
What makes this strange is Jackson had an outstanding senior season throwing for 2,900 yards and 33 touchdowns with only seven interceptions.
Jackson’s performance was good enough to be selected the very tough Moore League Player of the Year after leading Poly to an 11-2 record before falling in the semi-final game to Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei 21-20.
Jackson was also a 1st-team all-CIF Division I quarterback.
Jackson was all set to visit San Diego State this weekend when the Aztecs called and canceled the visit because of a numbers crunch. Jackson does have one visit set to Washington this January 10th.
Cal, Oregon, Oregon State, Washington State and Kansas were all showing interest in Jackson at one time or another.
Idaho State, Portland State and Nevada are now beginning to show interest in Jackson.
