Friendly CB claims a verbal

Fort Washington (Md.) Friendly is known for talented prospects Josh Haden and Lamaar Thomas in 2008. The school features a few more Division I talents though including 5-foot-10, 170-pound cornerback Steve Murray.
"Right now I'm very close to receiving an offer from NC State," he said. "Coach Reed is waiting for their recruiting coordinator to give the ok. If they get that I'll get the offer, right now I've been told I have a verbal from NC State."

Murray claims Colorado is very close to a scholarship too.
"I've been in touch with the coaches at Colorado," he said. "They like my physicality and tenacity on the field. Their staff is reviewing my tape and then they'll go ahead and make a decision. Both schools have said if I come to camp I'll have a really good shot for the full offer."
A few other schools are also keeping tabs on the Maryland prospect including Boston College, North Carolina, Ohio, Akron, Eastern Michigan, Delaware and others.
Most schools are telling Murray to come to camp for a chance at an offer. Where is he planning on going?
"I know I'm probably going to NC State for sure and I may stop by UNC while I'm down there," he said. "I believe my teammate Quinton Sales is going to Wake Forest. I may go with him and then I've got a seven-on-seven with my team."
At least a handful of schools are interested, does anyone lead?
"All of my options are open as of now," he said. "I want to go somewhere I have the opportunity to compete even if that's the I-AA level. I want to fit in and go to a school with a heavy fan base. I want the town to be into the football program."
Growing up Murray favored a few schools.
"I was always a fan of Georgia Tech, but I haven't heard from them," he said. "I'm a fan of Auburn and Alabama too and a lot of the southern schools. I like the ACC and SEC."
Last season Murray registered 65 tackles and two interceptions on his way to all-county honors.
