Friday Night Stripes: Texas teams clash in season finale

The high school football regular season is coming to a close in the state of Texas on Friday night and it also signals the end of the first season of the adidas "Friday Night Stripes" schedule, the first live streaming series of high school football games on Twitter. Each week, nationally ranked programs from across the country will square off, with many of the nation's top prospects set to take the stage in front of a national audience.

This week's game features a pair of Texas programs, as Midland (Texas) Lee hosts Odessa (Texas) Permian Game time is 8:30 PM EST and can be watched live here.

THE HEADLINERS

An exciting athlete who can do a little bit of everything, Powell should do most of his damage from the quarterback position in Friday night's game. A threat with both his legs and his arm, Powell is a tough matchup for even the most talented defenses. He recently committed to Texas, where he could play quarterback, wide receiver or defensive back.

One of the best underclassmen receivers in the state of Texas, Fouonji is a matchup nightmare for smaller defensive backs. He's a threat every time he touches the ball and is at his best in jump ball situations. Texas A&M, Arkansas and Texas Tech are among his early offers.

Jones holds down the Pemian defense and is a throwback type player at the linebacker position. A big hitter with good length, he's already college-sized and should be around the ball all night long. Jones committed to Baylor over the summer.

A stalwart on the Permian offensive line, Peterson is a long, lean athletic prospect. He has garnered quite a bit of recruiting interest, and up until recently he was committed to Baylor. Now that he's back on the market Texas Tech looks like the school to beat.
