Fresno State lands NorCal OL

Anthony McCoy gets most of the headlines at Fresno (Calif.) Bullard and deservedly so as he's one of the nation's top two way standouts. However, he's not the only Div I player for Knights as offensive lineman Charlie Robbins recently announced for WAC powerhouse Fresno State.
Robbins, 6-2, 265 pounds is one of the top linemen in the NorCal area. He's a two year starter and had a solid showing at the NorCal Nike camp despite being in sub-standard shape in his eyes.

"I hurt my shoulder in wrestling season so I wasn't able to train that much for any of the camps," Robbins said. "I only did 21 reps on the bench and I'm a lot stronger than that. I just tried to focus on the position and one on one drills and I feel I did pretty well in that area and knew that was more important to the college coaches anyway than how many reps I could do on the bench."
One school who Robbins obviously impressed was Fresno State who offered a scholarship following the event.
"I committed early to Fresno State without waiting around to see who else might offer," Robbins said. "I've always liked Fresno State and wanted to commit early to focus on my senior season without the distractions of recruiting. I'm very happy with my decision and have no plans to look around."
