Frazier putting academics first

Garland, Texas' three-star defensive end Marquis Frazier has his focus on academics along with his team right now. Recruiting, for the most part, has taken a back seat.
The 6-foot-3, 240-pounder says that while he has been talking to some schools on the phone about visits, he's been studying for his second big test in the next few weeks to get everything squared away for qualification.

"I took the ACT on Sept. 16 and now I'm studying to take the SAT," Frazier said. "I think I did pretty well on the ACT, at least I think so. I'm just working as hard as I can on the next one."
On the year, Garland is 2-1 right now and on the winning path once again as they seem to be year in and year out. Frazier says he's not quite sure of all his statistics but knows he at least has two sacks on the year.
As for recruiting, he says that there are four schools he's interested in visiting when official visits get set up.
"I'm trying to go to Florida, Nebraska, Texas A&M, Alabama, and I don't know the fifth one," Frazier said. "Alabama hasn't offered me, but they've been talking to me about it."
Frazier denies having a favorite or even a top three at this point.
"They're all about the same to me," he said. "I'm trying to get out and see some schools before I do that. Then I'd like to decide around Homecoming which is on Nov. 3."
