Franklin talks top schools

Darrian Franklin is not ready to name a clear frontrunner in his recruitment but it sure sounds like he has a whole lot of interest in Oregon.
The Ducks especially stand out after the four-star linebacker from Downey, Calif., took a recent visit to Eugene.

"I like coach (Don Pellum) a lot," Franklin said. "He made it specific on what position he wants me to play at inside linebacker and they don't have a lot of depth at linebacker so I have a chance to go and play there early. The education was on point too and I really like that about them.
"Those facilities are amazing. Everything is top-notch and over the top with it. They really took a lot of time to make everything as best as possible and nothing could compare to it."
Others are certainly involved in Franklin's recruitment though. Florida and Florida State will visit him this week and Michigan remains a serious contender. Franklin's father is from the Detroit area and the four-star linebacker said he loves the Wolverines' history and tradition.
"(Florida and FSU) are really interested in me and they like me a lot so they're coming to the school to see me in person and watch me run and stuff and hopefully they'll offer me," Franklin said.
"I just like the tradition and the fans and just the program itself so I like Michigan a lot."
The local schools cannot be counted out. The Downey standout said USC has been the most active in recruiting him and UCLA is in the picture as well.
"USC has been the most aggressive just because of all the letters they send me and all the hand-written (letters) and coach (Peter) Sirmon hitting me up," Franklin said.
"Coach (Scott) White (at UCLA) has been recruiting me hard, too. He's the new coach trying to get things together so I like them, too."
Franklin said he would like to make his commitment before the start of his senior season.
