Franklin likes SEC trip

Tyler (Texas) John Tyler offensive tackle Marquis Franklin took an unofficial visit to LSU, one of the schools that has already offered, to check things out over his spring break. Things went well, but Franklin still wants to wait for a while.
The 6-foot-5, 315-pounder went to check out the Tigers and came away impressed.
"I had taken any trips other than LSU," Franklin said. "It was alright man. They had already offered. That's why I went down there to just see how things were. They were pretty cool about everything. They know I'm just trying to sort all of this out. I liked it man.
"I met some new people, talked to the coaches, it was nice."
Oklahoma State will be his next visit late this month. Texas still leads, but Franklin says two other schools are working their way up the list.
"Yeah, I like Texas but I want to check out Oklahoma and Miami," he said. "They've been on me pretty hard lately."
Franklin says he's also trying to make it to the NIKE Training Camp in College Station, Texas this month.
Iowa, Baylor, Oklahoma State, and Texas A&M have also offered Franklin along with LSU.
