Francis soon to commit

Tallahassee (Fla.) Godby is absolutely loaded. That isn't hard to figure out once you realize that eight players on the Godby roster already have Division I scholarship offers before any of them have played a down of their senior year. Quarterback Emanuel Francis is one of those and he also may be the first of the bunch to commit.
"I have offers from UAB, Ole Miss and Memphis," Francis said. "I think North Carolina is getting real close to offering though. They told me that they were going to come to one of my first two games and that they would offer then. Clemson, Maryland and Iowa all said that they would probably come to one of my first few games too."

The 6-foot-3, 187-pound Francis attended the NIKE camp in Tallahassee where he ran the shuttle in 4.78 seconds, posted a 26-inch vertical jump and did 10 reps on the bench press.
"My top five right now are UAB, Clemson, North Carolina, Auburn and Louisville," Francis said. "North Carolina is my top school though. When they offer I am probably going to give them a soft verbal. I will still take visits, but I'll end up there if they offer."
As a junior Francis completed 100 of 171 passes for 1,393 yards and 10 touchdowns with only eight interceptions.
"I really like the atmosphere at North Carolina," Francis said. "The campus and the city just have a good feel to it. They throw the ball a lot and I like that. One of my former teammates, Darrell Roberts is up there and he's a pretty good friend of mine."
When taking a look at what Francis wants in a school, it's easier to see why Francis has the Tar Heels on top.
"I want the chance to play early," Francis said. "I want to go to a school where I can get a good education. One of the main things for me is that I go to a school that's in a cool, fun city and North Carolina is definitely that."
