Fox hopes Army bid puts Colo. football on map
Chris Fox is part of a group who feels Colorado high school football is underappreciated.

Now, the Parker (Colo.) Ponderosa offensive tackle will have his opportunity to change that.
Fox, a 6-foot-6, 297-pound four-star prospect, was presented with his U.S. Army All-American Bowl jersey during a presentation on Monday, a big honor for the Michigan commit who said he's excited to get to San Antonio.
"It's a tremendous honor to represent myself, my school and my family," Fox said. "It's just a great honor. Colorado is definitely underrated in high school football. We're definitely doing our thing down here and we can obviously play."
The Parker Ponderosa standout competed against many of the top prospects in the 2013 class -- and many of the same players he'll see at the Army game -- this past summer at the Rivals100 Five-Star Challenge in Atlanta.
That event gave him exposure to some of the best defensive linemen in the country and Fox said he's looking for even more opportunities to compete with pads on at the Army game.
"I'm definitely excited about it," Fox said. "It's going to be a great experience and it's going to get me ready for the next level. I'll be competing with guys just as good or even better than myself so I'm really excited."
There is a lot of excitement about the Army game but not so much when it comes to Fox's recruitment.
The four-star prospect, who's rated as the No. 10 offensive tackle and the No. 112 prospect in the 2013 class by Rivals.com, committed to Michigan in February and has not looked back.
Not one for the recruiting limelight, Fox said he's not considering other programs, won't be swayed by other recruiting pitches and is perfectly happy -- and deadset -- with his decision to play in Ann Arbor.
To Fox, the top-rated player in Colorado who's planning to take his official visit to Michigan in the coming months, it's comforting that the recruiting process has slowed down, that the recruiting mail has basically stopped and that he can focus on his season and the upcoming Army game.
"I'm sticking with Michigan," Fox said. "I love everything about the atmosphere, the coaching staff. Just everything is better there than everywhere else.
"It's all slowed down. I don't get any recruiting mail really. I may get an occasional piece of mail but there's nothing major. I'm definitely happy about that. I can just focus on my season, focus on the playoffs and get what we need done."
Then it's on to the Army game and a chance for Fox to prove Colorado kids can compete with everyone else.
