Athlete Gerald Moore out of Washington (D.C.) St. John's College was one of the many players to get noticed at the recently held Elite College Combine in New Jersey. The 6-foot-2, 187-pounder has seen an increase in interest, but have any colleges offered him yet?
"It went pretty well there," he said. "I was at defensive back and I felt like I showed my man on man coverage. I really thought I played the ball well and showed my speed and athletic ability. Overall the camp was a great experience."
After the event, a handful of colleges have increased their contact with Moore.
"The interest has been great, a lot of coaches are coming by," he said. "A few are even talking about offering including Akron, North Carolina State and North Carolina. I think those are the closest."
Are there any favorites for the D.C. athlete?
"Yeah, the schools I like are North Carolina, NC State, Pittsburgh and Louisville," he said. "I've visited all of those schools and met the coaching staffs. I felt really comfortable with them. I like the fact most of those programs are still building too. I'd like to be apart of that."
In the coming month, Moore plans to attend the Penn State Nike Camp and Pittsburgh combine. He's also looking at camps to North Carolina and North Carolina State.
