Four-star WR updates favorites

College Park (Ga.) Banneker athlete Carlos Thomas is one of the most athletic players in the country bar none. He very well may be the top wide receiver and top cornerback in the Peach State this year and has the offers to prove it.
“I’ve pretty much gotten offered by everyone,” Thomas said. “I know that I have been offered by all of my favorites. Right now I would say my favorites are Georgia Tech, Georgia, Clemson, Florida, Auburn and Maryland.”

The 5-foot-11, 165-pound Thomas has blinding speed with a 4.41 second 40-yard dash. He also has a 4.41 second shuttle time.
“The only camp that I have been to and the only one that I am going to go to this summer is the one at Florida,” Thomas said. “It was okay I guess. I thought that I did real well down there and held my own with everyone that I went up against. They had me working as a wide receiver.”
As a junior, Thomas hauled in 24 passes for over 600 yards and seven touchdowns. On defense he registered 36 tackles and two interceptions. Although he plays both ways in high school, most schools are recruiting him primarily as a wide receiver.
“I took an unofficial visit to Florida this past weekend,” Thomas said. “It went real well, I had a lot of fun while I was up there. I got to hang out with some of the coaches and stuff.”
Thomas is rated as a four-star prospect by Rivals.com is rated as the No. 13 wide receiver in the nation. Later this week he will likely be named as one of the top ten players in the Peach State.
“Me and Ramon McElrathbey from Mays have gotten to be good friends during the recruiting process,” Thomas said. “We will probably take our official visits together and go somewhere together. I’m still planning on taking all of my official visits, talking to my family and Ramon and then deciding.”
