Four-star WR talks NIKE camp, recruiting

FORT WORTH, Texas - Austin (Texas) Stephen F. Austin wide receiver Emory Blake was one of several wide receivers on the campus of Texas Christian University this past weekend for the NIKE Training Camp this past weekend, that had already picked up scholarship offers going in.
While Blake's offer total starting to grow, and includes schools such as Arizona, Oregon, Texas Tech, Tulsa, Vanderbilt and others, he's still taking his time. The NIKE event was a chance for him to come out and work towards continually improving his game.

"One-on-ones I think I could have done better, but overall I think it was a good day," Blake said. "It was real fun. I met Marcus Trice this morning. He's a real fun guy. We were just having fun out there."
Though the weekend gave him a look at the other prospect both at defensive back and wide receiver who are also on the radar of several schools, Blake isn't in any rush to make a decision. He recently made a trip to Tulsa, a school he talks with quite a bit among many others.
"I'm really open to anybody," Blake said. "I've just been taking my time and playing it by ear. There aren't any big leads. I'm just talking with the coaches, taking it one day at a time, and seeing which schools fits me best."
Aside from Tulsa, Blake says he also tries to call and stay in contact with Florida and USC.
"I try to at least call all the coaches that want me to call them, at least once a week," Blake said.
With his slow-approach, don't hold your breath on a decision coming any time soon. At the same time, Blake isn't setting an exact date for when he wants to decide.
"I really can't tell you," he said about a decision timeframe. "If I find a school that I like and it fits me best, and I'm comfortable there, that's where I'm going to go – whether that's tomorrow or on Signing Day."
Blake is a four-star prospect and a member of the Rivals250.
