Four-star WR picks UCLA

UCLA landed a major pledge on Sunday when four-star receiver Theo Howard from Westlake Village (Calif.) Westlake picked the Bruins. It's a huge commitment for the Bruins but really doesn't come as a surprise. After backing off his Oregon pledge, it became clear UCLA was the favorite and after repeated visits to the school the Bruins became the team to beat.

WHAT'S NEXT?: Howard will almost definitely honor his pledge to UCLA and he's expected to be an early enrollee which is important for numerous reasons. The four-star can immediately get involved in spring practice and with his ability and playmaking skills, Howard will have an opportunity to see the field early in his college career.
IN HIS WORDS: "I want to thank each and every institution that expressed interest in having me attend their school and participate in their football program," Howard said Sunday in a tweet. "Today I have accepted an offer to attend UCLA. I want to thank God and my parents without whom none of this would have been possible. Lastly, I will be enrolling early in January.
RIVALS' REACTION: Howard, the second-best receiver in California behind only USC pledge Tyler Vaughns, has the hands, speed, route-running and playmaking ability to get on the field early at UCLA. Playing with quarterback Josh Rosen could be a lethal one-two punch. Howard could end up as the state's top wide receiver so picking the Bruins is definitely a big win for them.
