Four-star WR high on Oregon State

Lavan Alston wore an Oregon State hat to the B2G Elite 7on7 tournament.
The four-star receiver was making a fashion statement because the orange hat matched his B2G uniform. He was also making another kind of statement - that the Beavers have shot basically to the top of his list after his recent trip.

"It was a cool visit," Alston said. "I like coach (Brent) Brennan a lot. He's coming on Tuesday to come visit me.
"I met (Brandin Cooks) when I was up there. He was a really cool, outspoken guy. He loved Oregon State and didn't regret going there. It was cool to get some mentorship from a guy that's going to the NFL and who shares similarities with me."
Alston, from Ventura (Calif.) St. Bonaventure, said he loves the Oregon State offense and how they'd use him there. Rated as the No. 26 receiver in the 2015 class by Rivals.com, Alston did stop short of naming the Beavers his favorite but they're definitely going to be tough to beat.
"It's super attractive for a receiver like me," Alston said of Oregon State's offense. "Get me the ball in space and let me go up against a slow linebacker. That would be outstanding.
"They're cool right now. I haven't visited everybody. I'm going to visit Arizona and Arizona State and I'm going to look at all my options but I love that school a lot."
The St. Bonaventure standout also visited Oregon recently and those coaches are expected to see him during spring practice as well. USC has reached out and could stop by especially since the Trojans have a commitment from teammate Ricky Town.
"They're coming down in spring ball to watch me," Alston said of Oregon. "Their facility was amazing and I liked the coaches, too. It was pretty cool up there."
