Four-star Williams ready to cut list

After a busy spring and early summer four-star McDonough (Ga.) Eagles Landing Christian weakside defensive end Andrew Williams is almost ready to cut his list down to a top five.
"I'm thinking about releasing a top five next week," Williams said. "I'm just trying to cut it down. I want to narrow down my list and get it over with."

Williams said plenty of teams are still making a strong push and he even when he names a top five he won't entirely rule out other others.
"I'm still going to consider those schools that recruit me but I think I'll know my favorites," he said. "A lot of schools have been pushing hard, LSU, N.C. State, South Carolina, Georgia. Those schools have been really coming after me, I'm not saying they'll be in my top five but they're pushing."
Williams said his next on-campus camp will likely be Georgia's Dawg Night event on July 12.
"Georgia [defensive line] coach [Chris] Wilson has done a fantastic job of recruiting me," Williams said. "I would love to have an opportunity to be coached by him. They're pushing hard to add talent at that position and I think I would have an opportunity for early planning time, so that's why they're pushing so hard."
Williams said the opportunity to play early would be nice, but he said it's not the firs thing on his mind when choosing a school.
"After all the other options have been weighed that one thing to think about, too," he said. "
Williams recently visited Auburn and Clemson and said once he names his top five he'll plan his next round of trips.
"I have no idea yet," he said. "Once I make my list I'll go with my parents and stuff so I can get an in-depth look at all of my choices."
If all goes according to plan, Williams said he'll make a commitment before the start of his senior season.
"I would love to get it done before the season starts," he said. "That would be good but there's no deadline. Just when I'm 100 percent sure about the school I'll make a commitment."
