Four-star Thompson high on UCF, Pitt

Antoine Thompson has his share of scholarship offers. A diamond in the rough he is not. Still, the Plant City (Fla.) High School wide receiver is hoping his options expand during his upcoming senior season.

He’d be thrilled about new schools entering his recruitment, but Thompson also has no problem selecting a program from the list of offers currently in hand. His top options, at this juncture, are clear.

“right now, for me, it’s probably UCF and Pitt on top,” Thompson said. “I would have a top three, but it’s pretty much those two.”

Thompson plans to graduate high school early and join the college program of his choice for spring practice. He hopes to make a verbal commitment during his senior season.

IN HIS WORDS: “I’ve had the offer from Miami, but I went down there last week to camp and run my 40,” Thompson said. “I ran, like, a 4.6.”

RIVALS REACTION: Thompson could very well end up at UCF or Pitt, but seems just as likely that a new school enters his recruitment this fall and snatches his commitment. Thompson is hard to project because his recruitment may change quickly this fall. The four-star wide receiver says he’s particularly interested in offers from Tennessee and Florida State.
