Four-star says two stand out

Many were surprised and confused by the recent announcement that Jalyn Holmes scrapped his original top ten. The defensive end from Norfolk (Va.) Lake Taylor provided an explanation to clear the air.
"Right now I don't have a list of top schools," said the 6-foot-5, 225-pound Holmes. "Everything is open because I had a top ten for the wrong reasons so I opened it back up."

Despite not having a firm list of top schools, Holmes admitted there are a two that still stand out.
"Right now some schools that are sticking out to me are Florida and Ohio State," he said. "I've been building a very good relationship with Coach Urban Meyer and Coach Mike Vrabel at Ohio State and Coach Derek Lewis at Florida. Those are the coaches I've been talking to most. Virginia Tech has been recruiting me for a long time but I'm really liking Ohio State and Florida right now."
Holmes has decided to take visits before naming another list of top schools
"I haven't taken any visits lately but my first visit will probably be to North Carolina for their basketball game against Duke," Holmes said. "I want to get out to Ohio State, Florida and USC during the summer time.
"When I go on my visit to Florida, my mom and I will probably go on a little tour during the summer of North Carolina, N.C. State, Clemson, South Carolina and then hit Florida," he said. "I might as well hit a bunch of schools if I'm going right by them.
"If I declare another top ten or top five it would be next year, probably during football season," he said.
Holmes' original top ten was Alabama, Clemson, Florida, Maryland, North Carolina, USC, Virginia Tech, Florida State, Notre Dame and Tennessee, in no particular order.
