Four-Star Safety Hiding Out

No one has been harder to track down than New Smyrna Beach, Fla. safety Cardan Alexander. Just ask the teams hoping to recruit him.
“I don’t have any offers yet because no one has been able to get in touch with me,” said the 6-foot-3, 190-pounder who is one of the nation’s top 15 safeties. “I want to focus on my high school career and then I’ll call teams after that.”

Alexander does get a lot of mail. He’s received weekly mailings from Miami, Florida, Florida State, Michigan, NC State, Virginia Tech, Virginia, North Carolina, Georgia Tech and a slew of others.
“I haven’t even thought about narrowing it down yet,” he said. “Once the season is over, I’ll call my favorites. I know the three Florida schools will be on my list. After that I’m considering a lot of teams.”
