Clearwater (Fla.) Central Catholic safety/receiver LeRue Rumph still has an official visit scheduled to Southern Cal on November 29th. What else has been going on?
"I don't have any other ones so far, just that one to USC," Rumph said when reached on Thursday evening.
Rumph said he might be close to setting a date with Georgia. The UGa coaches would like him to visit for the Georgia Tech game but that date would conflict with his USC visit. He did name two favorite schools.
"Favorites would have to be the ones in Florida with the exception of Florida State," Rumph said. "Florida and Miami. Those are my two top favorites right now. Those are my dream schools. Florida has offered me but Miami is just waiting to see more film and how the season has gone so far. Those are the two dream ones."
LeRue believes Florida likes him the most at receiver and Miami at strong safety. And his top five?
"My top five would probably have to be Miami, Florida, South Florida, Georgia and North Carolina State."
Rumph's senior season will be extended a little while longer. Clearwater Central Catholic has clinched a spot in the state playoffs. He's been playing mostly on defense.
"Offensive wise I'm not too sure but defensive wise I have six interceptions and I'm averaging about eight tackles a game. Defensive wise I'm doing pretty good. I haven't played much of receiver this season. I played two games at running back."
Rumph attended the Miami-Florida game in September and has attended a couple South Florida games so far this season as well.
"Hopefully I can make the Miami-Virginia Tech game. Next weekend I'm probably going to Florida's homecoming against South Carolina."
