Four-star running back/defensive back C.J. Gable (5-11, 180, 4.6) from Sylmar, Calif., has been very busy since September 1st. This poor guy can't get any peace even in the friendly confines of the halls of Sylmar high school. Seems these days everyone wants piece of Gables time. The list includes students, teachers, college coach and of course the media.
"C.J. has been a pretty busy guy," Sylmar coach London Woodfin said. "He's getting calls all the time."
"Even teachers at the school are slowing him down on the way to class asking him how he's doing and reminding what a special time he's in and to talk about what college he may go to," Woodfin said. "I had to talk to his student counselor about so he won't be late to class."

"Just about every college that is recruiting him has called," Woodfin said. "He's been hard to get a hold of so they have been calling me, too."
"C.J. went to the UCLA game last weekend but I haven't asked him if he's going yet," Woodfin said. "I will be at the UCLA game this weekend."
Woodfin played at UCLA as a defensive tackle in the 1990's and played in the 1994 Rose Bowl.
There is going to be an alumni tailgate that will be a benefit for former UCLA Bruin great safety the late great Eric Turner.
"UCLA's opponent OU is trying to get involved with C.J.," Woodfin said. "Washington State, Tennessee, Fresno State, Oregon, Oregon State, USC and UCLA have all called me lately regarding C.J."
"C.J. helped us get our season off to a right start," Woodfin said. "He rushed for 170 yards on 19 carries (8.95 yards per carry) and scored three touchdowns. On defense, he had three tackles."
It's looks like Gable is starting the season off like the last one ended when he was selected all-league, all-area and all-city in 2004 after rushing for 2,023 yards and 23 touchdowns while averaging 11.2 yards per carry.
Gable also had 14 receptions for 230 yards and two more touchdowns while averaging 16.4 yards per catch.
On defense from his free safety position Gable accounted for 81 tackles and four interceptions.
