MIAMI – After spending his junior season at Park Vista (Fla.) High, a little buzzed-about school in football circles, Aydin Henningham has returned to powerhouse Deerfield Beach High School in pursuit of what he calls “a higher level of competition.”

It’s not as though he needed the exposure, though. The recruiting interest that has long followed him remains the same. The four-star wideout still boasts a long list of scholarship offers. And while he hasn’t released a top five just yet, he doesn’t mind naming off a few schools that stand out from the pack as things stand.

“Ohio State, Florida, Nebraska and Pitt,” Henningham said during last week’s South Florida Express 7v7 tryout. “It’s them for now. Right now, I really like Florida, Pitt and Ohio State. I’m still learning about Nebraska. I’m going to release a top five soon.”

Nothing on that front is set in stone, however, as Henningham is starting the process of planning offseason visits – visits that could change the outlook of his recruitment if things go especially well.

“I know in the spring time, my coach is going to take us out west to visit Oregon, Arizona State and all that,” Henningham said. “I’ll have other trips, too.”

Time is at least somewhat of the essence, however, as Henningham doesn’t plan to drag out his decision. A top five could be coming soon and a commitment has been penciled in for this offseason.

"I want to commit somewhat early,” Henningham said. “I want to get it done before my senior year, so I have to start narrowing stuff down next month or something.”

A four-star prospect, Henningham is ranked as the No. 42 wide receiver and the No. 224 overall prospect in the 2020 class.

RIVALS REACTION: Florida has to be considered the leader to land Henningham as things stand. That said, things are subject to change. The four-star wide receiver hasn’t visited Ohio State or Pitt yet, and campus tours have a way of changing recruitments. That said, Henningham wanting to put an end to his recruitment before his senior season benefits the Gators. If the Buckeyes decide to push heavily down the stretch, things will get interesting. If not, the Deerfield Beach standout seems like Dan Mullen’s to lose.
