Four-star receiver has early top five

John Ross admits it is still early in the recruiting process especially because he has not taken many visits yet but the Long Beach (Calif.) Jordan four-star wide receiver does have an early top five.
UCLA, Washington, Cincinnati, Oregon and USC have emerged for the 5-foot-9, 165-pound prospect who looked good at the New Level Athletics Elite 7on7 in Las Vegas this past weekend.

So far, Ross said UCLA, Washington, Colorado, Colorado State, Utah State, Cincinnati and San Diego State have offered and he's hoping more offers come by the start of his senior season.
Ross, rated as the No. 35 wide receiver in the 2013 class by Rivals.com, is playing with the 1925 All-Stars so exposure shouldn't be a problem this off-season. His team made it to the final in Las Vegas.
"I'm excited," Ross said. "It's the next level and I'm getting ready out here. I'm just taking it one step at a time and having fun.
"I'm going to take a couple visits, weigh my options, have fun and just think about it throughout the process. I'm just going to take my time with everything."
Ross has an early list of favorites but no clear-cut leader at this point. His recruitment is just starting to seriously take off and the Long Beach Jordan standout said he does not want to limit his options.
Over the next few months, Ross plans to keep working out with his 7-on-7 team, get recruited by more schools and then make his commitment a little later in the recruiting process.
"They're all great to me," Ross said.
"I'm just waiting. I haven't even gotten to know everybody that well so I'm going to take things slowly. I want to see campuses, get to know the players on the teams and get to know the coaches a little bit more."
