Four-star RB returns from visit

Four-star running back Tracy Slocum (5-10, 195, 4.5) from Clovis (Calif.) Clovis East came back from his first visit to Arizona State. He was able to take in the Sun Devils victory over the Huskies of Washington 44-20. Though he had a great time and was impressed by the campus, the football program and the University itself, Slocum did not commit.
"I wasn't tempted to commit because I want to take my trips," Slocum said. "I still want to weigh my options. I plan on taking visits to UCLA, Cal, Oregon and Fresno State."

"I had a good time at ASU though, it was a lot of fun" Slocum said. "I liked the coaches and the players."
"Even though it is a big campus everything is very close for the players," Slocum said. "The facilities are impressive. Everything you need is right there."
"Brandon Smith from Bakersfield West was my host," Slocum said. "He told me that Arizona State is a great place to play and from what I saw it is."
Slocum went on the trip with his good friend three-star defensive end Chris Lewis from Fresno (Calif.) Clovis West.
It should have been interesting because Slocum's Clovis East team spanked Lewis' Clovis West squad 34-7, but that didn't stop Lewis from having fun on the trip with Slocum.
They jawed back and forth, but it kind of made one wonder what Lewis had to say after the loss, but apparently the two had some good nature ribbing.
Both players missed the game with minor injuries. Lewis is cleared to play this weekend and Slocum will play if needed. Otherwise he won't see the field until the playoffs.
Slocum has been chomping at the bit to get a chance to play but if Clovis East keeps blowing teams out there's a good chance that Slocum will stay on the bench.
Until Slocum was injured he racked up over 700 yards and had eight touchdowns.
Old timers love players like Slocum. He is your blue collar play with pain kind of guy.
When Clovis East traveled to Texas to play and beat Midland (Texas) Lee 38-37, Slocum played hurt and still gained 149 yards.
The very next week because of his injury, Slocum was held out for the first half. To get something going, Slocum played in the second half and gained 89 yards in 21-20 loss to Fresno (Calif.) Edison.
As a junior Slocum earned League Player of the Year, plus he was Mr. Central Valley his performance
Slocum was also a first-team all-state underclassman, second-team all-state all classifications, first-team all-league, first-team all-area, first-team all-city and first-team all-section after rushing for approximately 1,800 yards and score 22 touchdowns. He also caught 20 passes for 300 yards and five more touchdowns.
Slocum is a member of the Rivals.com Rivals250 team for the class of 2006 and he is also rated by Rivals.com as the nation's No. 19 running back. Slocum is also a member of the Rivals.com preseason California Top 100 team and is the Golden State's No. 17 prospect at any position.
