There's a laundry list of running back prospects from the state of Florida and one of the best is Trabis Ward. Ward, 5-9 and 205 pounds, hails from Ft. Lauderdale (Fla.) Dillard High School. Last season as a junior he rushed for over 1,700 yards and 21 scores.
"I have good vision," Ward said. "That really helps me in the hole or in traffic. Of course I have good speed as well. Those are my two best attributes."
According to Ward he has scholarship offers from Miami, Ohio State, South Carolina, Toledo and others.
"I have about ten offers right now. It got real busy for me in May. Toledo was the very first one and I can't remember who the last was.
"My big three are South Carolina, Ohio State and Florida State.
"FSU is a running team and I would love to play for coach (Bobby) Bowden. I kind of always been a Seminole fan.
"South Carolina likes to run the ball too. That kind of surprises people and it surprises me how much they do like to run.
"I just love Ohio State and I feel they will just make me a better person and a better player.
"I also like Florida, Miami and LSU. I plan on visiting Ohio State, FSU and South Carolina for sure this fall."
Ward has not attended any camps and he has not visited any team this summer. His visits will be this fall.
"It will all boil down to how they treat me as a person, do I fit into their scheme and some other personal things."
