Four-star racking up offers

Four-star linebacker Josh Shirley (6-3, 225, 4.53) from Fontana (Calif.) Kaiser is racking up offers as quickly as he was putting quarterbacks on their backsides his junior. His latest offer came from the one of the nation's most prestigious programs and all the way from the East Coast.
"I received an offer from Miami," Shirley said. "I was surprised because they are so far away and I didn't think they would come that far away just for me."

"Getting an offer from Miami was cool and very exciting," Shirley said. "I didn't see it (Miami offer) coming. It came from left field."
"People told me it would happen (getting huge offers from the nation's top programs)," Shirley said. "I didn't believe it before I started to get offers, I just thought that if I would work hard, good things would come of it."
Besides Miami, Shirley has received offers over the last month from colleges such as Tennessee, Colorado, Cal, USC and Washington,
Schools that have shown up on the Kaiser campus so far Colorado, Oregon, Stanford, UCLA, USC, Washington State, Miami, Nevada and Idaho. He has received calls from Arizona, Cal, UCLA, USC, Washington, Fresno State, UTEP and Colorado.
With all of this activity, does Shirley have any college favorites?
"I'm pretty open regarding colleges right now," Shirley said. "I'm thinking about taking official visits to Miami, Tennessee and Oregon. I'm going to visit UCLA, of course."
Shirley showed up to the Inland Empire Combine last Saturday to show support to his teammates, but he ended up competing anyway. Without even warming up, Shirley had a vertical of 33-inches plus.
Does Shirley have any other camps planned in the future?
"I'm going to the B2G camp in June," Shirley said. "At this time, I don't think I'm going to attend any other camps."
Shirley earned his league's defensive MVP, first-team all-county, first-team all-area, first-team all-CIF and first-team all-state underclass honors for his junior season performance after racking up 123 total tackles, 88 which were solo, he had 17 sacks, 12 knockdown passes and three forced fumbles.
In the wright room, his current bench is 355, squats 495, power cleans 285, dead lifts 605 and has recorded a 35.5 vertical jump.
Shirley was selected to the Rivals.com preseason Rivals250 team for the class of 2010.
