Four-star QB talks UCLA offer

Devon Modster headed over to UCLA last weekend for a visit, the thought of an offer freshly on his mind, and the four-star quarterback did not leave disappointed.
The Rancho Santa Margarita (Calif.) Tesoro prospect who looked good at the Rivals Quarterback Challenge in Los Angeles said he met the UCLA coaching staff, talked through a bunch of things and landed his newest offer from the Bruins.

"I met with coach (Taylor) Mazzone and he took me up to the film room," Modster said. "We watched some film on me and some film on UCLA and how their offense works.
"They took me through a slideshow of what they want out of a UCLA quarterback and how I fit in their offense. I took a tour around the campus and after that I saw Brett Hundley throw for his pro day.
"Coach (Jim) Mora came in but he had to leave to go watch his son's lacrosse game. He offered me right when he had to leave."
It is definitely a big one for Modster, rated as the seventh-best quarterback in the class, but he's not jumping to a commitment just yet.
The best the four-star quarterback would say is that UCLA is now solidly in his top five but he still plans to consider other options. Still, even if Modster is being political, there's no question he has a lot of interest in the Bruins.
"That's a great offer," Modster said. "They're one of the top programs in the Pac-12 and just knowing they have a quarterback going to the NFL Draft means they develop their quarterbacks for the pros.
"UCLA is definitely in my top five but I'm not favoring anyone right now except my top five schools. All the Pac-12 schools are in my top along with Boise State."
The Tesoro quarterback said he has started to talk a little bit with Notre Dame. In his junior season, Modster threw for 2,500 yards with 24 touchdowns and also rushed for 700 yards and 16 scores.
